make until, someday, a young adult approaches you and says, "Thanks for making it
possible for me to belong to the Scouts." Every day, tens of
thousands of volunteer leaders, both men and women, are involved in Scouting's programs.
Some get started as parents or guardians. Others step forward out of a simple desire to
help. They serve in a variety of jobs—everything from unit leaders to unit committee
members, merit badge counselors to chartered organization representatives. They may
participate on district committees, council boards, or the like. They all have one thing
in common...
They want to make a positive difference in the life of a child.
